Squarespace is a platform with integrated software solutions to fulfil most small business owners’ needs, from a scheduler linked to your online calendar for easy bookings to an integrated online shop, blog, newsletter and more.
The most attractive element of this is that it’s all built to integrate beautifully and if they update one element, it won’t negatively impact another, which can be the case with sites built using various plug-ins.
They even offer completely free 24/7 unlimited helpdesk support, so if you’re burning the midnight oil and need help that instant, one of their offices will be working and able to assist.

I get it, I initially used Wordpress as I believed the hype that Squarespace wasn’t as professional and was utterly rubbish for SEO and you know what? I was wrong. It sucked for my ego, but hey, it happens (quite a lot sady!).
What I discovered when I actually did the research was that Squarespace offers a wealth of ways to optimise your site for Google without pesky plug-ins.
After switching from Wordpress with the fancy-pants SEO plug-in which was managed by a reputable SEO company I rose to the number one spot in a matter of months!
My SEO success was due to consistent repeated work on my part and not some magic bullet - no website can give you that. If you want instant results, ask me about Google Ads as I can recommend someone fantastic, but paid ads aside, it’s that old old adage of what you do with the tools you have that makes the difference.
I’m also not dissing Wordpress, the point is that my SEO ranking didn’t tank after the switch which I’d feared it might, it significantly improved and all whilst I was in a friendly SEO battle with another branding photographer in Bristol who was on a Wordpress site and using a well-known SEO agency to help climb the rankings. I say this merely to reassure you that if it’s worry about SEO holding you back, it’s not an issue.
When it comes to organic SEO, increasing your ranking takes time and consistent effort, no matter what platform you choose for your website, but I’m proof that Squarespace works as well as any other when it comes to Google rankings!
